Masjid WD Mohammed is raising money to design and build a community center that will serve the community development needs of the masjid and the surrounding Southpark neighborhood.
It will be named for Imam Ibrahim Kamalud-Din, who was a pioneer in the establishment of Islam in America through radio, television, and education.
The vision for the community center is to honor the legacy and works of Imam Ibrahim Kamalud-Din by establishing a community center to address the social needs and concerns of the community. The community center is an important step in continuing the Imam’s legacy which produced imams, entrepreneurs, business leaders and educators. It will contain a Museum to preserve and showcase the community’s historical significance, a media center to support and inspire the next generation in the task of technological Dawah, and a youth center to create a safe space for the future leaders.
